Throughout the development of the Horizon Miami County 2035 Comprehensive Plan, there will be various opportunities for residents of Miami County to provide comments or share input. This public input will guide the development of the plan's goals and objectives and result in a vision for the county's future.

The planning process will include multiple meetings, presentations and online engagement opportunities. To ensure that everyone can stay updated on the team’s progress, we encourage you to review project materials and key findings throughout the process. Two public open houses were facilitated at the Miami County 4-H Fair Grounds. The first was from 11am to 1 pm and the second was from 5pm to 7pm. Attendees were provided a background of the comprehensive planning process and existing conditions summary. In addition, participants had an opportunity to provide feedback on topics related to community resources, economic development, housing, and transportation. There was also opportunity for general comments. This feedback will be utilized as part of the foundation for plan priorities that will be developed in the second phase of work. Attendees were also encouraged to complete the online survey and share that survey information with others in the coming weeks.

Focus Group Meeting were held virtually for the Horizon 2035 Miami County Comprehensive Plan to gather insight from key members of the community to get a variety of perspectives on different topics within Miami County.

A youth engagement activity packet was created for distribution at the Miami county school at the Highschool level. Two of the three county schools chose to participate in this activity. The packets were distributed electronically to Peru Community School Corporation and North Miami Community Schools for the school facilitators to print and pass out to a government or social class of sorts. The purpose of the meeting was to gain insight and feedback from youth in Miami County that would assist with the development of the Miami County Comprehensive Plan.
